SERVICES

    • The time before during and after pregnancy is called the “perinatal” period and it is often a time of intense emotions, hormones, stress and anticipation.

    • Almost all mothers go through some form of stress or worrying (during or after pregnancy) but if you find yourself consumed with these thoughts or they are impacted your daily life, it’s time to seek help.

    • Together we can identify and normalize the range of emotions you are feeling, then we can work on coping skills- this often includes a mixture of CBT techniques as well as building your support network of friends and family.

    • You hear it often: parenting is the hardest job on earth. This is for many reasons, namely because of the intense and overwhelming love that parents feel for their children.

    • Children challenge us in different ways as they grow. What starts as intense task-based work in the infant stage (often on very little sleep!) progresses to the crazy-making independence-seeking toddler stage (potentially still on little sleep!). If you are finding yourself stuck in any of these stages, I can help!

    • Unpacking some of the challenges of parenting can have real impact:

      • Reducing “mom guilt” by identifying ways you may be projecting your emotions on your children

      • Fostering independent sleep so that the entire family can function better

      • Learning what and what not to worry about so that you can focus on the joy of having children

      • Creating more space in order to reclaim your sense of self

    • My couples work focuses on identifying problematic relationship dynamics and communication patterns, working together to resolve resentments that have developed over time, and increasing quality time spent together.

    • Working with couples can be beneficial as there is an increased sense of accountability in sessions.

    • Improving your relationship and partnership is always possible when both parties are motivated and engaged. If you’ve been together several years or several decades, it is never too late to reset and refocus on one of the most important relationships in your life.

    • For more on relationships, check out The Gottman Institute - long considered the gold standard for couples work.

    • Has your marriage or relationship changed following the birth of your children? It’s very common as the introduction of a new person into your family comes with added stress and responsibilities that partners can respond to very differently (one is the “chill” parent and the other “worries about everything”).

    • In this therapy I focus on increasing assertive communication while learning to validate and empathize with your partner’s experience- even if you don’t necessarily agree with it.

    • My ultimate goal for you: work as a team. Remember that you started this together, and the way you will succeed is to learn how to collaborate and uplift each other.

My Experience & Approach

I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, panic disorder, PTSD, and mood disorders. Therapy is not “one size fits all” for any of these mental health concerns, and often requires a flexible and adaptive approach.

Here’s how I approach therapy:

  • Holistic View: I assess my clients within their different systems (family, work, community) in order to have a better understanding of how we got here. We can then work together to target specific problematic behaviors or relationship patterns.

  • Flexible Methods: Whether you prefer a coaching-style approach (like CBT) or a slower, more relational method, I tailor my approach and strategies to fit each individual client’s needs.

  • Personalized Focus: Some clients focus on the future, others work through past trauma, and some a mixture of both. I’m here for all of it.

  • Diverse Backgrounds: My clients are from many different backgrounds and we work together to improve mental health, establish effective coping skills, and repair family dynamics.
